Boar Hunting

I am interested in starting to do some hunting in the offseason and wonder if anyone has any stories/tips/suggestions about boar hunting.

Im in Indiana but have heard good things about ohio or southern Kentucky. Idealy I would like to go on public land and find a place where I can camp and hunt for some piggies.

all I know is you should be careful. Wild pigs can put a hurt on you and I hear they are vengeful. At least I can bump so someone who knows more about it can advise you.

I knew some guys that lived near me that hunted boars professionally. They would do it at night with dogs. They had a hound dog to track them, some smaller dog to flush the hogs from the thickets and brush, and a pitbull to hold it down. All the dogs were on GPS devices and they would follow the dogs using a handheld trackers. This was in south Georgia.

As anons have said, it is dangerous hunting hogs. People that hunt with dogs treat those dogs like almost expendable hunting dogs. I mean, that is kinda the point of using dogs -- they take on all the danger. It's not like they abuse them or anything, it's just they might not really considered them apart of the family like you would with ole yeller and more of a tool.

Honestly just search youtube. You can find a video on how to clean anything from a fish to a boar.

Man, the internet really is a gem. Imagine if you lived back in the day when you couldn't just do anything yourself, when you had to get a plumber for every little thing, take your car to mechanic just because you didn't know what to look for, pay out the ass for 30 minutes of work.
