Hey /out/, I'm going camping solo for the first time since my friends are deadbeats that refuse to go places. I'll be heading to a beach spot along the Oregon coastline, somewhere pretty close to Happy Camp resort if any of you know where that is. I'd like advice of all sorts. Here's my list of shit that I'm taking:

>Swiss surplus steel frame backpack
>Canned food (chile, chicken)
>tiny pan
>Dry food (quinoa)
>2 quarts water
>US military surplus sleeping bag
>Swedish half-shelter tarp
>2 person tent, with complimentary sand
>shitty 80 dollar boots
>knife
>multitool with flashlight
>paper
>pencil
>book

What else should I bring/discard? I'm thinking I need more water, but the camping is only going to last a day, max, and I'm half certain that I can get water if I hike the few miles of beach to reach some restaurants/drinking fountains.

Also does anyone here have cool stories regarding solo camping? Or is this an exercise in vanity from a /k/ lurker?
