>>488527>>488657yeah Australia - not good a Million years ago ; OK warmer , wetter - lots of rainforest.
But think about Food : Bush Tucker Man notwithstanding there was very little to eat here.
Sure maybe if you get good at hunting the animals [and there were a lot more] but carbohydrates are a problem : what fruits/nuts/starches were native? : Mango , Macadamia , Sago Palm , Breadfruit/pandanus , Bunya? NOT much , very far apart , and very seasonal.
When Pamplett/Parsons/Finnegan? got wrecked near Brisbane their only carbohydrate source [courtesy of the Aboriginals] was the root of a Fern cooked.
We aren't carnivores ; it would be a slow protein laden death . . . .
Now everyone think about YOUR part of the world ; Most foods that 'grow wild' now are transplanted species : Take the shortest distance that I can think of , off the top of my head ; Potatoes didn't make it from South America to North America until 'modern' times ; that's a pretty-short distance by modern standards.
North America had Corn Beans Squash Bison : that was it ; No apples , No oats , No wheat , no rice.
When the Pilgrims landed in America and when the First-Fleet landed in Australia they all nearly starved the first year even with a LOT of resources and Food-crops brought to plant. . ..
