if you don't have any clothes, i would get clothes. now you won't be naked

next, if you don't have any shoes, i would get shoes. now you can walk long distances.

next, if you don't have a backpack AT ALL i would get a cheap backpack. now you can carry things without using your hands.

then i would get a tent so you can stay out overnight.

then, if you want to stay out longer, a larger backpack.

I personally would go with a tarp instead of a tent, if the environment permits. But either is better than none.

You should get a good (expensive) sleeping bag, a tent that is waterproof and a pair of hiking boots that doesn't fuck up your feet. I don't think anyone disagrees.

OP here i didnt fucking ask how complicated the question was. Should i bring a mug and cutlery or just carve them out of a knife as i need them? is it ok to put cans in the fire instead of buying expensive cooking gear?

Honestly I think you should use google and whatnot to check out gear suggestions and videos on youtube and such from people who have done longer backpacking trips. Like people who have done the appalachian trail and such upload gear videos and you get a good presentation with a lot of info there instead of asking one of 4chans slowest board to give you their 2 cents on this shit, because it's a very huge topic with several different ways of doing it.
Also, I don't even know if you've done any backpacking before and what you already own. You come off as a complete noob. Of course everyone must start somewhere, but if that's the case, I'm not gonna write an entire essay here on "How do I into backpacking."
