There are countless places all around the world that are absolutely incredible, and definitely below the treeline. Obviously, those places are in Africa, Asia, South America and Oceania.
Also, there are countless places where people drink in a hammock all year long, and where sleeping on the ground is mocked. Hammocks certainly aren't a fad.
Nice picture btw, I'm seeing plenty places where you could set up a hammock. No, hammocks don't have to be attached to trees, they can be attached to pillars and rocks too. I even set one between the masts of two boats once.
