In a closed environment, they will upset your ph way more than they could in nature.
That bark will slowly rot and flake off leaving crap for you to constantly clean, stain your water, and clog up your filters.
It's going to leach tannins forever - safe in most types of wood, but maybe not what you want to look at (some like it).
It, in all likelihood, floats.
It's not a particularly interesting looking piece of wood.
If you want driftwood, go check riverbeds/shores for stuff that nature has already done the hard work on. The bark will be stripped, the tannins will have leached out, and it might even be waterlogged enough to sit at the bottom without anchoring it.
