Well this is a coincidence because I have a slackline though I havent used it for about 3 years. I was going to dig it out when the weather gets a bit better because I fancy getting back into it.

Mines a gibbon jibline which is a trickline, so its wide and designed for bouncing and getting air.

Personally i started off with a gibbons classic line. Although the webbing (rope) is two inches rather than one inch, the line is easy to set up by yourself. If you're interested in a traditional one inch line, this article outlines the basic components you'll need.

Not enjoying slacklining is perfectly understandable, but if you've never even tried it based on the broad generalization all slackliners are "wanna be bro-climbers" you are definitely overlooking slacklining as a challenging (and in my opinion fun) activity that helps to train skills used in many of the sports you listed. To each his own though.

Not perfect but better than nothing, or if you've got two people you could just belay on each end.

I'm not doing it because it looks boring (for me), and I was making fun of slackliners. 95% of them seem to be late teens, early 20's college students who don't know the first thing about the outdoors. Maybe that's just because they took up a good 30% of the space and trees of the quad at college because it was a fad while I was there though. The fact that the REI store guys ask me about slacklining almost every time I buy certain climbing gear doesn't help.
