>>495954Four months in a one person backpacking bugtent & rainfly, moving from place to place. I was on a trip with some friends and we ran into all sorts of weather. Think pic realted, but on a much smaller scale and with two hiking poles and a bunch of stakes.

>>498933Get an inflatable pad and use a sleeping bag with an insert sleeve, along with a foam pad on the bottom so the inflatabloe one doesn't pop. By putting all insulating layers in one unit you don't have to worry about rolling off of your insulation onto the ground in the middle of the night, and it helps contain body heat a lot better. Systems like this are also a lot lighter and more compact than traditional sleevless sleeping bags. Recommend thermarest products along with the Big Agnes Whiskey Peak 0F bag. I was able to camp out in -20F weather at an altitude of 12,000ft with this setup for two whole weeks. Fucking toasty.
Pine needles, dry leaves, grass, and anything you can do to limit the volume of air in your tent or the spaces between the ground and the tent will make it warmer.
