1)You control the horse with your body.
As and inexperienced rider you will be making that horse do all kinds of shit without knowing it. Like stearing into bushes and pissing it off or generally being heavy In the saddle because you're tired.
2)Its a living thing, and it sees the world very differently than you do.The horses attitude and temperament come into play a lot more than you would thing. You run lap a horse around a track 10 times without issue, but suddenly put a bucket off to the side of the track it may respond in any number of ways depending on how comfortable it feels with that bucket magically appearing.
I dont mean to make it sound like terribly difficult, but a horse is a big heavy animal that can ruin your life because of a little mistake.
consider every other movie you've ever seen that involved horses. Ever notice a scene where the rider is talking to another person and the horse is doing anything but standing still? Its always some horse spinning in circles or fidgeting isn't it? New rider and too much shit going on off camera. Apply that to trail riding
