>>521845Got back from Dartmoor an hour or so ago. Had a shower and a bit of a rest, but gonna post some of the photos here. There were two people, other than me, and they should both be home by now.
We hiked from Ivybridge up over Butterdon Hill, onto Piles Hill and down into Piles copse, going past Sharp Tor on day 1.
We went south, down the valley a bit, and then up most of Stalldown Barrow, countouring round past Dendles Waste, through Stall Moor and Yealm Head onto, I think, Plym Steps or possibly Giant's Hill. We went south-west along the valley to Ditsworthy Warren House, north between Eastern Tor and Gutter Tor and then continued north into Deancombe.
Until we came down Plym Steps/Giants Hill day 2 was fucking miserable. It was uphill into the clouds, then it just rained for most of it and the floor was a bitch to walk across (there was a big stretch where even the animals weren't walking) but coming down into the valley and seeing the sun breaking through the clouds over what I think was Shavercombe Tor (pic related) just made everything worthwhile.
Day 3 wasn't much hiking, we just pushed further into the Burrator Reservoir region and stayed in Beechcroft Plantation.
Day 4 (Today) we just followed the road into Dousland and then caught some buses and trains and went home.
Account of the journey might seem a bit boring, but useful for me to work out how far we hiked and maybe the other guys would like to know exactly where we hiked, at least by my reckoning.
