Was it cool as fuck? Yes, yes it was. 50% extra duration is a fine trade for riding in style like that. (They're slow as balls and almost constantly need the gas tank filled)
The REAL problem with an RV is the gas situation. Not only do most of the van-based ones need gas every 3 hours or so, they fucking devour 100 bucks worth of gasoline before you even notice. I honestly don't know how hicks afford to do drive these things. We did ~2000 miles in one for about 800 bucks (I don't remember the specifics) but if you were to do it in a car it's about half that.
So If I had to have one, I'd buy it out west and stay out west with it. Fuck blowing a grand to move the damn thing.
