You can make them using fine powder sprinkled in front of the lens. The type and color of the motes/dust create various types of orbs. Like these. They are all common household powdered items, mostly from the kitchen, seasonings, sugar, salt, turmeric, etc. You can slap a cushion in front of the camera and take a pic through the dust cloud and get some nice ones.
