>>502431It's my favorite knife I carry with me at all times, whether in a city, outdoors, or abroad.
I guess this says pretty much everything: it's so small and light you'll forget you have it and will have no trouble concealing it, which is hardly required as it's legal pretty much anywhere in the world. It's by far the best knife in that category, deceiving everyone with its cheap looks, when it's in fact a well-built knife that you can rely on, with a good and easy to sharpen blade, and despite being a slipjoint, it's far, far from the cheap Chinese shit, with a well-fitted spring and two strong locking positions that will certainly keep your fingers safe. Even if you were to be an idiot, the knife would just snap to the half-opened position. Myself, I feel safer with a Douk Douk than a poorly fitted locking knife like many are.
And if you're in a situation where you need something better, just hammer the pivot and handle, and there you go, you have a fixed-blade knife.
So overall, it's a great folder I know I'll always have in my pocket whatever happens, and as a city-dweller and regular traveler, this is a big thing in my book. And it's likely to last, seeing how many people around the world have been using the same ones for decades, the kind of people whose daily life is what you call /out/. That makes it a great way to make friends too, you wouldn't believe how many people can recognize it, mostly in former French colonies where it was sold and later used as a weapon during independance wars.
As for the price, it costs 14€ to 16€ in France. Don't pay much more than that, I know it tends to be sold crazy prices abroad, like it's some collector's item or something, but it's supposed to be affordable first and foremost, but clearly it's not a toy knife.
