scottish highlands

Yo /out/
I want to go trekking in June in the Assynt region of the western Scottish highlands and need as much info as you can give me. I plant to fly to Scotland, head over to Inverness, take the bus to Ullapool and start walking northwards in the general direction of Lochinver. I got no special goal and no intention to go hardcore expedition, just stay outdoor for 2-3 days at a time, enjoy my time, climb a Munro or two, hit back civilization for a shower and a brew and then repeat.

Tent recommendation, single wall or double wall?
Topgraphic maps, online and in print, what to use?
Generals safety hints?
Mobile phone coverage (as a safety backup, I'll be solo)
Things to do and see?
Pubs, Restaurants and shops to visit?
How much food and supplies to bring and where to resupply?
Midges and how to survive them?
Hows the weather and such?
Gear tips.
Anything I really shouldn't miss? (spectacular scenery, pristine beaches and such)
