>>506732Late April to early August in my area (central MA), right after rainstorms and in high humidity. Rarer in coniferous forests, but everywhere in Deciduous ecosystems. Usually on old oak logs by bogs/ rivers. Pine forest is way too acidic for most mushrooms where I live. they like to get comfy on decomposing logs and in shaded areas where the sun can't dry them out.
Pic related. This huge conglomerate of icicle fungi appeared after a storm/ streak of humidity. Thing was as big as my fucking torso. Absolutely beautiful.
