Hi /out/

I've been hiking for only about the past year and I've been doing harder and harder tracks, bordering on completely unmanaged/unmapped.

I feel the need to have some kind of a device where I can put in waypoints on my computer at home, and have it direct me to them. It would also be helpful if it would show features such as rivers, maybe even gradients etc.
I've been looking into handheld GPS systems but I'm not sure if it does this?

What kind of a product should I be looking at and do you have any recommendations?
