>>514641>compression shorts, long pants, Lol if you actually believe that will keep them off of you.
>partner to check back.I have never gotten a tick on my back, ever. What you need someone to check is your hair.
>>514644I generally agree with the advice in this post. Spray bug spray on your socks and pant legs. That will keep the seed ticks off of you. Sometimes the bigger ones will attach from brushing against taller branches, but most get on you from down low.
I never understood the desire to burn ticks out or paint them or do anything else weird. Just grab them by the ass and pull the fuckers out. It's not hard and this doesn't need to be so complicated. God damn.
Most ticks will dig into your skin somewhere around your waistline or crotch. Sometimes they make it up your body to your hair. I haven't had that happen since I was a kid, but I remember my brother went to get a haircut one time and the barber refused to touch him because he had a tick in his hair. I have found many a tick around or on my balls, and when I was in Scouts, it was not uncommon for kids to get ticks right on their dicks.
I wouldn't know about tick-bourne illnesses. I've pulled probably thousands of the fucking things off my body in my life and I've never gotten Lyme disease or any weird illness. The key seems to be early detection, so know what to look for and get yourself tested if you are concerned.
>>523184It can be a little disconcerting to do if you didn't grow up with ticks. I think I am slightly allergic to something about their bite because when I become aware of them is generally when the bite starts to itch and get red. Then I look and see that they've dug in. Pulling them out isn't so different from pulling a splinter. Once it's out, you feel a little bit of relief.
>>522137They don't crawl around on the ground so much (unless you camp in a nest of babies). Most ticks wait on branches with their arms stretched out. Waiting.
