I want to purchase a leatherman, but I have no clue which to get, considering the variety of them.
It needs pliers, pic related.
What's the best one I could purchase that has general usefulness innawoods for a decent budget?

You're choosing the wrong tool for going into the woods (I presume that's what you mean)

Leatherman are predominantly urban devices

The annoying thing about leathermans is that it's impossible to get all the tools you want in one. I've got a Kick now, and I like it a lot; it's got a good collection of tools with no crap and it's pretty light, but no nail tool and no scissors. The only good scissors are on the Micra, but then you don't get pliers.

My ideal, I think, would be two of the mini tools, one with pliers and one with scissors, and then a larger blade, but I'm poor and I keep losing the damn things.

I also have the Kick. I took it on a couple bicycle tours and it it was probably the most useful thing that I brought. I always take it on hikes and camping trips, like the guy said, no extra frills and everything you need.

Fuse here, picked it up, and it came with a free head light wrap thing whatever the fuck it's called. Bright orange so I can't lose it or can find it if I drop it, and has a locking system that is VERY solid. I'm a rookie sharpener, but the blade on this is sharper than every other knife I own except my carbon steel mora. all in all, I love it. Slightly smaller than the Wave, but I have pretty big hands and have no issues with it.

I used to carry the original Super Tool and a Victorinox Climber swiss army knife, which complemented each other pretty well. Until I misplaced the swiss army knife. Then I got a Wave.

The SwissTool is extremely well-made and a pleasure to use, but I feel that the Leatherman tools have better overall tool capability and are designed to be more of a beater tool. Kind of like comparing a Rolex to a Casio/Timex watch.

Though I must say Victorinox does have the best scissors by far, but a lot of the components on their tools have weird organic shapes, and the tips of the pliers and drivers aren't as precisely ground like Leatherman's. I don't need two different bottle/can openers that are also "organically" shaped into the form of screwdrivers when I can one tool that acts as a bottle/can opener, and standalone drivers.

And it's kind of hard to access the SwissTool's components if you have large fingers and short fingernails

Got the Super Tool 300, chiefly because I wanted a Wave, but the store was out, and I was planning to do work around the country house for a week.

Sure helps when you got all the tools on your belt, instead of going back to the house 20 minutes there and back.

One note: does not have a corkscrew. Found this when faced with a wild wine bottle on a train.
