Is this going to last me? I'm homeless and got a $50 budget for a tent, Need lightweight etc. It looks pretty awful, but some reviews saying its usable. Help!

It is sturdy, but not really waterproof. If you're in a wet climate you will either need to coat it or put a tarp over it.

OP my friend's dad was homeless living in a tent. he didn't have much money and cheep'd out and almost died, even in summer. he got completely soaked and eventually got amblance'd out with hypothermia - and it was still august

Check other shops, it is pretty common. Same goes for the LK-35 pack, a favourite for bushcrafters because it it is cheap simple and sturdy.
