I've seen a lot of angst against Bear Grylls stuff here. Is all his stuff shit, or is it overpriced? Or does /out/ hate him because he's doing staged shows and generally isn't Ray Mears?

I mean, I look at this full tang knife, and it seems solid. Before posting here I also browsed some videos and it seems to be able to take ton of abuse.

I've never been in life-threatening survival situation, just hiked, so I'm asking for honest opinions to expand my knowledge.
