So why a 30 dollar pot and not a cookset with cups and such?

I'd drop the purification tablets, bandanas, and hand sanitizer, and get a reusable filter as well as a cheaper stove.

Can't tell, never seen the etekcity stove.
You could also make a cat can stove, and buy something else.

In some areas where water is really bad, you should use a combination of both Sawyer filter & tabs, as the Sawyer doesn't *kill* all bacterias it only filter the water, as far as I understand.

Other cheap things:
>Platypus bottle (but you can use normal water bottles)
>Drybags
>Space blanket
>A cheap headlamp
>Small things to make a repair-kit & emergency-kit

there should be plenty of budget left assuming most anons have basic household stuff laying around and that doesn't count in the budget.
