Hey sc/out/s, any good tips on traveling light? Particular items you'd recommend?
After my last trip two weeks ago, when I carried tons of weight in camera equipment in addition to regular hiking gear, I came back aching and tired. So I decided that I'm ditching my regular tent in favor of DD Superlight hammock + tarp + mosquito net combo, and all but one water bottles in favor of Sawyer Mini Water Filter. I already use light folding saw (Bahco) instead of an axe. I'll leave my hand-cranked flashlight and instead use some small AAA-powered one.
I would toss out mess kit, but then I would have nothing to cook in. Any ideas for that would be nice.
Anything else?
