I went camping earlier this month (car camping but it was dispersed, nothing but a fire ring). All week I was thinking of bringing my bowsaw but of course I forgot it. There were downed trees all over. Well seasoned too. I'm talking 8-10" red oak, birch, and pine. We had to ghetto it and lay them across the fire ring, feeding them in as they burned down. How helpful that bowsaw would have been!

So, does /out/ use a bowsaw while innawoods? Do you bring them backpacking? I've often thought about it. Aside from being bulky and possibly snagging brush or your gear, they really don't weigh much at all. Easily could be lashed to a pack. Is this something you guys do?
