>>527106>What do you guys like to cook when camping?Delmonico steaks are something of a camping / hunting tradition with my friends and me, usually with a vegetable bomb (aluminum foil pouch of various veggies) but my one buddy is an ex-chef who likes smoked meat, so usually there some kinda smoked meat on the menu that weekend (pulled pork, venison tenderloins, leg of lamb, etc.) with things like omelets in the morning and grilled chicken sandwiches for lunch and we'll also make some stuff at home ahead of time to minimize the hassle at camp and just heat it up; cheese & potato pierogies for breakfast, golumpki, etc.
I can understand eating freeze dried crap if one is actually backpacking and weight is an issue but otherwise, why eat like shit just because you're camping? Our attitude has always been that as getting together for camping / hunting is a rare treat, we ought to make it as fun of a time as we can and that includes eating as well as possible.
