I have around 100 USD burning a hole in my pocket and I'll be going to a army/navy surplus store tomorrow. What are the essential pants, boots and shirts? Already have the meme fleck parka.

The best boots I ever wore were Rocky S2V Jungle boots before the Army changed the standard and we can't wear them anymore.

Tactical pants are a waste. Just wear something comfortable and breathable. You'd have better luck at a civilian outdoor store.

The best bang for your buck is going to be socks, however. I like fox river brand, but a lot of people swear by darn-tough. A good 15 dollar pair of socks can make any boots feel good. I melted a pair of issued boots at Ranger School so I had to break in a new pair during mountain phase. They were Rocky S2v Jungle boots and I wore fox river socks and I didn't get a single blister

Get an alice frame pack. Medium or large, you're looking at long ass trips so throw down on the large. Buy a shelf for the frame. It'll come in handy and helps with making the frame into a better tool. Should run you $60.

OD green looks nice non-spergy camo and the shirts are super comfy and durable, not to mention they go for around $5-10 online most times and the parka is even better than flek, though heavy AS SHIT

Next get some cool baseball cap

Next a pack. If you're lucky get the LK35, otherwise maybe ALICE. Avoid at all costs the shit that is the "back-destroyer" "neck obliterator" ILBE shit

And finally, again if you're lucky, the only milsurp pants you'll ever need are British. Everything else is shit. Same for shorts.

For boots, don't go milsurp. Go expensive or you'll regret it.
