What books would /out/ recommend regarding flora identification? Hard mode: specifically for Australia.

At the moment I'm searching for a pdf of 'Native Plants of the Sydney region' by Alan Fairley and Philip Moore, if anyone has a pdf/link.

Have you seriously not been to a library before? Public libraries are free. That's the whole point of them. Just search catalogues of your local libraries online and see if they have what you're after. Theres also the state library in the city which has a large collection. But just search catalogues till you find what you're after. You can get membership at any library, you don't need to live in the area

Also usually university libraries have the best collections. If you're not at uni yourself but know someone who is you can get them to borrow something for you

Some libraries will charge you for membership if you don't live in the area.

If you can prove that you're pov though they usually let you off. Student card or Centrelink Heathcare card would do it.

Membership is usually less than $10 anyway.

Why would you like to know about this?

I ask because as I was on a hike the other day, I thought for the first time about how I wished I knew anything about all the different species of plants around me, and that there were still people left that really knew the outdoors.
