What if you don't make camp till after 8:00? You don't want to have to wander the woods for an hour to gather wood.
There are so many different types of stoves out there.
I'd recommend the MSR PocketRocket but you'll have to figure out what your budget is and what type of stove you would like to carry.
Alcohol stoves seem to be the cheapest route but it doesn't mean they are unreliable.
Don't get more than one utensil. I carried both a lightweight fork and spoon for a while but only ever used one. Save your money and just get one or the other or get a spork.
As far as pot or cooking vessel, get one thing like pic related. You can fit your gas and stove into one of these.
Jerky is a good snack. I'd carry it if it wasn't so expensive.
