>>550572If you want a machete look for: Tramontina, Imacasa (Also marketed under the Marble's label and Condor), Ontario Knife Company, Gavilan, Coldsteel.
There are other good companies for machetes but they tend to be much more expensive for a questionable increase in utility/performance. There are also a number of thick bladed choppers that are called machetes but aren't really machetes.
Bear in mind that some of these companies ship their machetes dull as fuck, so pick up a fine metal file and/or sharpening stone too. Wood handled Tramontina and Imacasa may need a sanding block taken to their handles to make them comfortable.
Carbon steel for work.
Stainless steel for hanging on a wall.
You WILL need to sharpen your machete after use, this is part of owning a machete. They are good at not shattering, keeping an edge comes second usually.
Use a lanyard, lets you hold machete more comfortably without worrying about it slipping out of hand.
Oil the fucking blade.

Resist the urge to start a revolution or butcher rival tribe members.
Be cautions of any made in china. Central America, South America, Africa, Europe, Other SEA countries will generally be decent. China typically makes lesser performing machetes.
