Out of curiosity, has anyone ever volunteered with an anti-poaching group? I've been looking at one online, which has intense training for a few months in South Africa and then patrols a national park, removing snares and 'poaching the poachers.'

So, if any of you have ever been, what's it like? How intense was training, could you give an idea of the requirements? Ever get shot at or badly injured?

Not thinking about joining these guys, just genuinely curious. I've also heard that they don't allow non-SA citizens to carry weapons. Are there any groups that do, or is that a country-wide law?
