>>547071It was a personal, fictional novel, coming of age thing written for my own help when I was 17, very nature-oriented.
With self-publishing on Amazon, you will probably have not copyrighted your work, and will probably not have published with someone else already. This is fine in some senses. I've never heard of people having their non-copyrighted books being cheated unless they have tens of books released, and even still, most of the time people just buy an e-book and return it after reading it. If someone does scan your book online, then having it copyrighted is hardly gonna help. So now with that outta the way...
It's very easy. You hook it up to your Amazon account (or make one), and look up Kindle Direct Publishing. From here, it is incredibly easy. Enter your book's information and pricing, give it a cover, and enter your tax information. Unfortunately, Amazon takes 70% of the profits. This is okay, but if you want to promote it with newspapers, libraries, and other institutions, they are gonna want a cut of the money. This will leave you with next to nothing, making sales hardly worth it. Ideally, you will have a series, and release the first part for free entirely. This should draw many more people to the book, and invest them enough to purchase the following volumes and leave reviews. This is a plan my friend has followed, and that I plan to follow this winter when I release a few more books.
After publishing the first one, the consecutive books will be very easy. Literally the press of a button will get you most of the way. Then you just enter the book's information, and you're done. Don't expect much outta it, though.
Sorry this isn't very eloquent. I woke up 10 minutes ago. Hope it helps, though.
