Where can I go hike to camp in the beautiful Pacific north west without making a reservation? I'm looking to do a one night camping trip where i hike to the camping spot. Thx. pic somewhat relates, my bug out stuff

You shouldn't need a reservation for most places. There's a not so comprehensive map of the olympic peninsula with campsites posted in another thread.

This is untrue. Anywhere on the coast that is a campground will be disgusting all summer. But you said rustic. Which is mostly what I do. So say where you want to go and I can help. Campgrounds? You may want to think about a reservation. Rustic? Generally all over the place, especially if you want to hike in.

Navaho Pass/Peak out by Teanaway.

It's on the east side of the Cascades so it's usually pretty quiet. Plenty of water on the trail, but no lake so fewer bugs. There's a nice big alpine glade you can camp in just below the saddle and a great view of Stuart range from the top.

The butterflies are also really nice this time of year.

Also the hike finder on WTA.org is a great resource.
