We just harvest the honey. Everybody thinks that taking the honey is evil and the bees will have nothing to eat but that not true. They have more than enough and they don't just eat honey. When they don't have much honey we feed the bees syrupy sugar-water. They love it just as much and don't really care

The only predators you need to worry about are beetles. Little suckers like to lay eggs in the honey and fuck with the bees. We put a wire frame at the bottom of a hive. They can't get past it to get in the hive

How much time does it take? Is it hard to get in to? Do you have to take the honey or can you just install the hive&the bees and then leave them alone? I was considering getting bees but i dont know a shit about it, and i wanted to install it in my parent's garden bc i dont have one, but they don't want to take care of it. They would be fine with having bees there and helping to save the bee population, they're just a bit scared to open that thing etc.

Don't forget mites. Beetles can wreck a hive, no doubt, but the bees will recover. Mites will literally destroy the colony by infection.
