Obviously it's a bit bigger, the poncho being the worst offender. But shelter can be very nice.
Thinking about it that sol kit really lacks water purification tabs and a lighter.

I'd still recommend military surplus though. I got some freeze dried meals (same as real turmat) for about 2 bucks each. Some out of date.
