>>552139There are also easy modifications for the handle, a lot of people stipple it or wrap it with something for more traction
The Beckers are a better starting point if you are willing to put a little extra effort into it you'll end up with a semi custom knife that you can be proud of
Most people buy them as a project knife, after stripping the coating and forcing a patina, making some wooden handle scales and a leather sheath you end up with a beautiful and useful knife that doesn't look out of place in nature
The handles aren't hard to make and neither is a sheath, it's would be a good opportunity to practice your woodworking and leathercrafting skills or if you like the plastic sheaths kydex is very easy to work with and you get to decide exactly what style of sheath you have and how you'll carry it
If you aren't willing to put a little sweat into it then esee is a slightly better investment at first but I think what you end up with in a Becker is a little more pride worthy
If you do go with esee look to the cm6, it doesn't have as many flaws as the esee 6 imo, the only thing you would really need to do is take the edge off the clip point with two or three strokes on the side of a sharpening stone
