>>552550Mostly fresh and brackish waters myself.
>Worms/Lizards/Jigs:Abu Vengeance Rod (6' 9", Medium-Heavy, Fast Action)
Abu Black Max Reel (Left Hand retrieve; I'm a righty but like my spinning reels I wanna reel with the left and feel with the right)
14 lb Berkley Vanish Fluorocarbon
Had my best luck with football jigs. Fond of the Booyah "PIgskin" jigs in either black'n'blue or "Nest Robber" colour. "Nest Robber" has a very natural crawfish look to it. I fish those with matching Paca Chunk trailers. For worms I like Culprit worms in either "motor oil" or "red shad".
>SpinnerbaitsWright & McGill Skeet Reese Spinnerbait Rod (7', Medium-Heavy, Fast Action)
older Abu Ambassadeur 5500 HCL FLW Tour edition (Right hand retrieve because it was a gift)
12 lb Berkley Vanish Fluorocarbon
I mostly stick to Fire Tiger or White/Chartreuse spinnerbaits in either 1/4 or 3/8 oz. Zoom split-tail trailers. Either double willow-leaf blades if I'm fishing heavy grass or a single, big colorado blade for that extra thump when fishing at night or in sparse cover.
>Finesse6' Guide Series, Light, Moderate-Fast Action rod
Abu Cardinal SX10
6 lb Trilene Mono
I won't be caught dead without jig spinners and 2" to 2.5" panfish baits. Everything hits them. Crappie, sunfish, bass, snakehead, channel cat, perch... It's also a nice setup for jigging grubs (single, curly tail, double-tailed hula grubs, etc).
Those are the three rods I won't leave home without. I also bring a setup for crankbaits and topwater but the post will end up too long fit a description.
>>552561>what the fuck are you fishing for with 40 lb braidThat's a little steep IMO but 25 to 30 lb braid is pretty standard if you're going to be throwing into heavy timber or very thick, matted, grass. You need something that isn't going to snap if you have to rip it through dense water lily or hydrilla. Always braid up if you're fishing jigs, punch rigs or soft-bodied frogs in that kind of stuff.
