>>559106i never said wool was best. it's heavy and costs more.
>>559221>I use a down bag and I've been doing it for years. It's in a dry bag inside a pack liner. I could literally submerge my pack in a river and it would stay dry. If your wool blanket gets wet IT WILL NOT KEEP YOU WARM. READ THE LINKS I POSTED.you have a point there
>Great fucking argument there champyup
>Everything smells like sweaty ballsack after you've been /out/ for a while. no. next time you go to a clothes shop, smell some 100% synthetic garments. They don't smell of ballsack or musky, they smell acrid and unnatural and disgusting.
>First you say it's no good for hunting. Now you've moved the goalposts to a very specific kind of hunting that is practiced by just about nobody. And even then, you're wrong about modern bow or rifle hunting. I know people who bow hunt (and not compound faggotry in a blind, I mean stalking) who get extremely close to game in order to guarantee a humane shot. Guess what they wear? Synthetic fleece. Because it works. A deer will smell you if you are upwind whether you're wearing wool, synthetic or a suit made of stitched foreskins. You can get close if you wear 100% synthetics. It's EASIER to get closer with natural clothing. It's not impossible to get close with synthetics, it's just a little bit harder.
Obviously a deer is going to smell someone upwind.
I use wool for trousers, jumpers, gloves, socks, everything apart from shoes. I never said wool was 100% supermaterial. especially in desert wool is shit.
Use synthetics if you want. I don't care, i wear wool, furs, buckskins, etc
