I'm from Everett, WA, This pic is from the back of the, "Lake Stevens Monster." (47° 59.816’N 122° 6.954’ W) I got my eyes some routes, Anybody else been to it?

well bully for you.

i started the eternal climbing threads on /asp/ (first 4) but gave up after i realized every one was arguing about shoes and spraying about how hard people can climb in the gym.

and nobody ever posts pics. of the 19 climbing/climbing area pics, 11 of them are mine.

the /out/ climbing threads tended to be slower, but at least they included posters who actually go /out/ to climb and have stuff to share. pic related.

and belaying with two ropes was a lot smoother than i thought. i can't really explain it, but it's pretty intuitive.

Anyone here a Tahoe climber? I'm from the bay area and I love going to south lake to boulder and north for sport.
Also there's some decent spots down south on the coast ie Stinson, Mickeys, Goat Rock.

Yeah, I did that...breaking in a pair Merrell Flashdance boots Aug 10 1988. Fell off two buildings at once in L.A. Full layout chimney move in a walkway between two buildings, feet on one wall, hands on the other. Got up about twelve feet, came down, thought, "I'll bet I can get on the roof of this gas station..." Up again, got up to about 15', started sewing....shit. Started back, left foot slipped, landed on my toes a little off-balance to the left, paratrooper roll to the concrete. Felt something gi e ehen I hit and thought I had broken my ankle. Nope. Longitudinal fracture of the left calcaneus. 2 screws, 2 operations, 3 casts, 3 months on ccrutches. Moral of the story....don't fall.

Still have those boots-- after 26 years they still look brand new!

I'm kinda confused by your question, but generally if you're using most trad geR(cams/nuts) that are placed properly in good rock you probally won't blow the rock. If the rock is poor quality or of you're hammering in pitons there's a good chance you'll scar the rock. You can see this if you goto some of the old school areas in the US(Yosemite, or Eldo) you'll see a lot of scarring from this,and a lot of your hand holds can come from these scars. DONT MAKE NEW ONES THOUGH.

Yes, it's safe. It's also customary to attempt a backflip once you get to the top of these small rocks. Don't worry if you've never done a backflip before, it's comes naturally. Once people see your bad ass back flips they'll know you're a serious rock climber and invite you into their secret climbing club.

if you go somewhere with other boulderers ( because that's what you'll have to do with new gear) pay attention to what other people do and ask questions about how to do better.

you'll want shoes, though. bouldering in tennies is a waste of time-no grip, no feel

what's the highest you think you've gone up and at what rating? I hear there's lots to highball at huecco tx. it's on my bucket list.

right now I am climbing 3 days a week and working on more training, I hope to try and do bouldering comps in the future, I have a lot to learn and a big to do list. haha

i only ever really climb on my home board, but some mates and I have been going out to this newish area near brisbane (australia), and there is a sick v8 there that i tried last time i went there. the start, the v8 part, isn't too bad, but the end bit is a sketchy mantle ~12 feet off the ground. i got up there the other day and pussied out so hard, if you fall you land in this deathly area of logs and rocks that drops away. highballs are fucking sick, i wish i could go outdoors more.

the only highball I can think of off the top of my head ends with a flake about 15 feet off the ground and nothing to do but drop. it's flat but it still sounds shitty. I don't know I live on the front range, I just don't get out enough to explore due to lack of good climbing partners.
