I'm from Richmond Virginia but I only really go hunting in the mountains in Pennsylvania because I don't know of anyone around here with land. It really sucks

The mountains of pennsylvania are awesome. My grandfather has a cabin deep in the national forest and it's by far my favorite vacation each year. The hunting there isn't great but the deer population is making a coemback and now they allow turkey hunting on the saturday before the first day of buck season

Ausfag here, we have a massive abundance of feral animals anyone can hunt without permit and limit in most places, shit's cash.>Foxes >Goats >Fuckhuge cats >Deer (red, fallow, chital, hog and sambar) >Camels >Water buffalo >Pigs >Rabbits and hares >Donkeys >Kangaroos (as long as it's on a property and the owner gives you permission) As an aside it's actually recommended to kill as many cats, pigs, foxes and rabbits as possible as they fuck up the native ecosystems beyond recognition. Also, cane toads. We also have feral horses that cause a lot of damage but people get pissy about culling them because "muh Snowy River poem."

Houston tx. USA. I hunt for piggies, white tails I Fish for reds, flounders, trout, and just about anything that bites. Mfw work is slow, loosing time by the docks. See shads and big ass mullets jumping out the watter, realize there is a feeding frenzy about two feet from me. I have a colapsible pole in the trunk of my car. I had to walk away to resist. Just yesterday I walked on a 5 foot gar chilling by the edge of the concrete pier. This happened less than 30 min ago

Just curious on your weapon of choice for hunting game?
Also, i have never seen water buffalo ever on any of my trips, have you?

>>556386 Recurve bow, mainly hunt rabbits and foxes though.
Never seen buffalo personally, but supposedly there are quite a lot up in the Top End to the point where the government has declared them an invasive species.
Safari hunting trips for buffalo and pigs are quite popular out there too from what I've gathered, and where it's more dry people go for camels, donkeys and goats.

I'm from Arkansas. I'm an avid duck hunter. I typically go anywhere from 30-45 times a season. I also deer hunt but I'm not that skilled at it and don't have the dedication to do so. I started trapping furbearers 2 seasons ago and I've enjoyed it. I started trapping because I wanted to get into taxidermy. I've learned how to tan my own hides as well as clean and preserve skulls. I've caught beavers, coons, possums, gray foxes, and coyotes. In the spring and summer I fish for catfish, bream, and largemouth bass. I also go after bullfrogs a few times a year because I enjoy eating them.

I didn't know Arkansas ate frog legs, they sell them at grocers here because New Brunswick is full of Frenchman who like them. Horse meat too sometimes.

>>557157 Frog legs aren't really an Arkansas thing. It's just something I personally like. I should say I'm close to the Lowsyanna border so we have a lot of Cajun food/culture around here. With that comes crawfish and gator, which I also like. We have a gator season here and I apply for tags every year, but I haven't gotten lucky.
I like eating non-typical protein sources personally so I wouldn't mind trying horse someday. I ate a beaver I caught once and it was pretty good. I've only caught them using body grips which are a kill trap and it was only cold enough once to where I felt safe eating it. My goal this year is to catch at least one alive for eating.

DNA testing showed it was part of the black hills population up in Dakota. Some people think it might have even been a pet from that population someone grew tired of then released.

Another good resource is a local rod & gun club. They can and will help you get started and succeed at all types of local hunting, shooting, and angling.

i need an adjustable bow because i want to be able to hunt small game with low torque so my arrows dont break/get lost constantly.
im also new to shooting and arent sure what poundage i prefer and cant get to a store to try one out.

>>560928 That is a good point. I am the one with the infinite edge and it is nice that I can adjust it from 55-70 to adjust as I progress and improve. I would have to say that if your looking for a good cheap adjustable bow the infinite edge is hard to beat. There is the bow tech fuel that is the same thing pretty much as the infinite, but with a few more goodies and a extra 10 fps but a tad more expensive. Might be with the extra bucks but I wouldn't get too worried about splitting hairs. Save your time from looking at different bows, and spend it on shooting what bow you get.you'll benefit more from it.

The thing is I'm pretty broke so I was just curious if a catfish makes for decent shark bait if I remove the head and fins since I really can't afford to go out and buy bait. Also, any tips for setting the hook?
Thanks.
