>>555368lets say you are walking in good conditions then your walking speed will be around 4,5 km/h
15 hours of time would be around 70k if you walk non stop.
but that is not really realistic.
for me its usually: (26y some what fit male)
> large food breaks every 6 hours for ~90 min (cooking / eating / cleaning / rest)> small snack breaks 20 min every 3 hours (refill water/ get snack from pack / reached a landmark or a sightseeing spot)> 5 min random breaks (oh look blue berries / lets take a picture / lets at or remove a layer of clothing / hmm better check the map)so i spend ~ 4-5 hours not walking and thus i should manage ~45k distance in the remaining 10 hours.
BUT this all changes with stuff like:
> terrain, when gaining elevation + 10 mins per 100m elevation (4,5km with 600m elevation may take 2 hours)
> is it a nice path or a jungle track were you need to watch your step or exhausting stuff like sand, large steps?> is it hot / cold / humid / sunny / windy> how much crap you carry, how worn in you boots are > How fit you / weakest member is > level of comfort / intentions. is it a holiday hike or are marathon like Challenge where you race for time. All these things can cut your distance.
Tldr: ofc you can walk 50 km with 6k/h in rain and cold weather no problem but you will be sore as fuck
fun fact the 12h distance record for running is at 162 km on road/track
