What is there to know about spear fishing? Can I just carve myself a spear and wade out into a creek and catch dinner, or is there a trick to it?

3. You see how your pic related uses a "Y" at the end of his spear? That isn't an accident. Its near impossible to kill a fish with a sharpened stick. You need the Y to trap the fish.

Where do you aim on the fish?

Also, I recall that if you pop the gallbladder of the fish when you clean it, it ruins the flesh. Is this a big risk with spear fishing?
