>>556548why the hell does everyone think 'I'll head to North Wales''?!?
listen to a local first.
there is nothing here, no real woodland, no resources ect to use. if youre intending to live rough give up plans of gonin innawoods, or even finding enough combustible material to have a fire very night. you will get no peace or solitude- even more so at this time of year. every bugger comes to North Wales to walk/fish/camp/be a wanker . give it a week and every layby in Snowdonia will be filled full of camper vans and crusty hippies looking to go bouldering. for the most par it's all open , and exposed land with nothing to break the wind that comes odd the Irish sea, before funnelling down the Cwellyn, Padarn, and Ogwen valleys atm it's blowing steadily to the mid twenties mph wise, gusting up to near 40mph. this is a regular thing
the road/transport infrastructure is shit, don't expect to get around easily, and don't expect to be able to travel easily in straight lines. youre gonna need to be able to resupply easily which means that this will quickly become a reality- I live on Anglesey, where a 50 mile round trip for groceries is pretty common.
there is no 'right to roam' here so if you do pitch up somewhere, be prepared to moved on by other people.
you're going to have to cope with 'tourist prices' all the small town and villages here hike the prices in the summer to milk the tourists paying £10 for a loaf of bread, 4 pinter of milk, a dozen eggs and a newspaper is not uncommon
if you're going to be at risk of becoming homeless, get in touch with your local council, and look at realistic options, not half cocked 'ask the gaiz on teh interwebz' threads
