the wizard was a fun movie, but only the first 1/2 or so is /out/. but even at that is more a hustling roadtrip for kids. still, the self reliance was there and super mario 3 was the greatest game of its time for me.

The only movie, for me, that surpasses The Goonies in /out/-inspired greatness is Stand By Me.

I live in a rural farm town, and me and my friends have all kinds of special spots in the woods down by the train tracks. So many memories and adventures out there over the years. I think it's one of the reasons I love this movie so much, it has so many similarities. Funny enough, of the three of us I'm the only one who's seen this movie.

that was golden, i can think of no other movie that really displayed the camaraderie of childhood like stand by me did.
i didnt grow up near train tracks but ill be damned if that movie wasnt an accurate portrayal.
