Building a proper /out/ shelter (adult treehouse, of sorts)

No.561508 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
I feel like having a go at it. Anyone done this?

(located in Scandinavia so park rangers etc. aren't a problem)

The frame is made up from the logs of young spruce trees you fell on location. You get rid of all branches and bough and use that for the roof and walls.

>Step 1
Find two trees in close proximity and bind one log across both of them. Use two logs to support these from below. You dig a hole in the ground and lean these against the trees so that it is sturdy. Bind together.

>Step 2
Raise the two poles, also in holes and secured by rocks. Connect with the log going across the two trees, let the connecting logs rest on top of that one.

>Step 3
Floor, roof. Made from smaller logs and bough.

Leave room for a door. Create a temporary ladder that you can lean against one of the trees for easy access (and haul inside during night time).
