I got a watch from we-wood. Different model, but same wood as pic related. The watch and band are made of wood. It's comfy like a metal band, but doesn't pinch and is much lighter.

Downsides, not waterproof at all. So it's more to make me feel innawoods when I am stuck at work.

I've been using a casio F91W for almost a year and I like it. Its got a thin profile. It works. Except I still haven't figured out the alarm feature and the buzzer is kinda messed up. It's held up decently, in the rain and work.

I always use a Casio 5610, and for the military (and my motivation to get extremely fit to enlistI thought it'd be neat if I got something more accessisble.

Just bought a 8900-1, perfect except for the shine. An upgrade to the 5610 I think.

In case any g-shock fan is wondering by military personel wears the thick g-shocks instead of the square 5600s (6600, 6900, 8900, mudman, frogman, etc....) it is because of the light button, which is much more accessible on those models. Some of them also have bigger buttons, easier to press with gloves. The straps also tend to be better, with a double line of holes. Also, it may sound like nonsense, but the 8900 and some other big g-shocks have screws on the sides of the resin body.

9/10 recommend it.

Luckily for me, after cooling down it came back to normal.

I hate the casion G-Shock line because they are fuckhueg versions of the same shit watch, but with an extra pound of plastic built around them. I've banged around my F-91 look alike plenty and it still works fine. The added bonus of the non g-shock versions is that you don't look like a raging autist who needs a padded wristwatch.

Though I am curious about the non-casio version. Any hints at what it's called? I like the one I posted because it seems very 80s futuristic while still being pretty minimal.

I was a little mean about them, there's nothing actually wrong with them or the people that like them, they're just not for me. I just feel like it would take a hell of a hit to fuck up a watch, and at that point you should be more worried about your wrist than the watch itself.

Suunto and Garmin do not make reliable watches.

They fail often and are very fragile both to impacts and to water and mud.

Go g-shock or analog, then get a proper compass and GPS

I have one of those, they are NOT made for diving. Trust it to be resistant to splashes and short immersion of water, but don't swim with it on.

Dive watch =20atm or greater.

It's your choice entirely, but I would say still no, because of the price.

I know g-shocks start to sound like a meme, but they truly are that good , and cheaper also.

I would personally go for one that does not have gimmicks, just the hour and a chronometer. Casio compass, barometer, thermometer etc also fail often, they are not accurate with today's technology.

If you dont like g-shocks I'd go with a good analog. For the price of a Suunto or a Garmin you can get a nice analog automatic watch.

If you so want a GPS, I'm not an expert but there are good wrist GPSs. Some military guys use them.

Suuntos and Garmins seem pretty much like an assured buyer's remorse, just go into Amazon and see the reviews. The only people that love them are the ones that just got them.

I have a Germin Fenix that I like but I also got it for free. Sometimes it's slow to get a good satellite linkup, but otherwise I don't really have any problems with it. I mainly do a lot of running and swimming and it's held up for about 10 months now. I had a suunto core that broke while I was swimming, and a suunto vector that I had no problems with.

Digital has no moving parts that can become dislodged, making it as durable as can be.

Quartz is more accurate than automatic movements and does not need to be serviced for more than 5 to 10+ years.

It can stand in for a compass, unless you can't visualize what the time would look like on an analog face

It have everything that I need. If you don't need any fancy functions, just buy a f91w. There are also some Casios with altimeter, barometer, thermometer (the temperature probably isn't very accurate, because it' on your wrist, and solar-powered.
