its a hatchet, does what a hatchet does

however, you'll spend a lot less time/energy processing wood if you use a saw. lighter too.

Back when I didn't know any better I went and bought some hatchet from the local hardware store. The handle broke right away because I was using way too much force. Having no experience, can I rehandle the hatchet myself? What should I look for in a new handle?

supposedly heat treatment problems with their steel can lead to the edge rolling. It may have been fixed by now. Also Wetterlings is now under ownership of GB anyways.

Small Forest Axe is my favorite m8. Stihl 1926 is nice too. I've an old one with no name or anything on it that I've had for a decade now but it really needs a new handle to be of use and I can't be arsed to make one - got some nice bits of Ash put aside though so one day I'll get there.
