Hey /out/ I'm going on a two day hiking/camping trip this weekend and I'd like to hear suggestions on what kind of food to bring. Should I pre make chili? A bunch of sandwiches? Let me know what you'd take to eat!

Some veggies like bell peppers, carrots, celery, cucumber and some hummus or tzatziki makes a good snack. bringing some veggies, milk, or yogurt will take advantage of the cooler.

hot dogs, marshmellows, eggs, bacon, beans, tuna, sardines, sandwiches, etc. if it's only a two day trip you don't have to worry too much about eating a bit of junk food.

2 days is a long time. You're going to want high fat and high energy meals. I'd say 10 burritos, 10 burgers, a bucket of chicken, beef jerky, Doritos , trail mix is a must, pancakes are always awesome for breakfast, and brownies for desert.

Sounds good. Also bring one or two packets of instant oatmeal to get started. I also like to nibble on crisps and GORP.

If you do take sandwhiches. Don't put anything like cucumber in them. They will go soggy.

I did a 3 day hike and I had lots of peanuts, a few cans or soup, lots of breakfast bars for... Breakfast and snacking along with the peanuts. Tins of baked beans are good, you could always open them and put them in vacuum bags to save weight however that then means more washing.

Easy.
I personally don't mind carrying a few tins since we were on a time target we could stop to heat the tins and then walk whilst eating/drinking from the cans. No washing. All easy. This way you don't need any plates or anything. Couscous is also good. Hot water is all you need

I meant in terms of food. I'm just slinging out ideas for him. I initially said tins. If he only wants to eat cold food out of a packet then nuts, bread, jerky etc. it doesn't take much to put a fire together though. Firestrike/matches weigh nothing. Fire isn't hard. Couscous may be awkward but since he's going back to a car then there's essentially nothing he can't eat.

Hikers/non glamping should adhere to the rest I mentioned. It's not too heavy and easy to eat
