>>567082It's up on the hinterland, starts at Maleny and works its way into Mapleton Forest. The camps are generally empty (I've gone during holiday time and nobody was there) and you can check how many people have booked what days/camps online if you want to be completely alone on the walk.
Some real nice views out over the mountain ranges and valleys as well as waterfalls, old trees etc.
Lots of bush tucker along the walk too if you know what you're looking for. Found lillypilly, wild lime, bladey grass, native ginger, midyims and lemon myrtle to name a few. Of course there is also bunya nuts around if you go at the right time of the year which would make for a tasty, filling meal with a bit of flavouring added to it, not to mention the black beans everywhere if you've got the time to remove the toxins from them.
Pic is another one taken from the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk, a lookout in the Mapleton Forest.
