It also depends on where you buy them. Here's what pros do man:
Buy a pair of 90 dollar merrells from cabela's.
Keep the receipt, wear them for 2 years. Call ahead to customer service telling them the boots are "worn out", you have the original receipt and ask if there's anything they can do for you. They will offer you a brand new pair of the same boots free of charge. Cabela's customer service is great man, I've gotten lots of free gear from them after I used then shit out of it/had accidents with it, but saved the receipts.
