I have the orange whistle here. It is long and has a water tight seal compartment where I keep storm matches and cotton balls. I cut a small circular piece of sand paper and nestle it in the cap as a strike surface. It is light so I don't notice it. Has the most ridiculous shit tier compass on top of cap as well.
Most bags I own have built in whistles on the clips so I normally have one anyways but some people I go out with don't carry whistles so I give this to them so we can signal each other when we meander off dicking around in the woods. Once a friend got lost from the camp at night and got turned around really far away and used this whistle to signal us and we eventually found them after 2 hours and everything was cool. They were new to being /out/side and were freaked but that person now years since that incident is very competent.
Most that stuff is shift tier but not entirely unredeemable. Some of it just takes a little tweaking and is useful. Those storm matches have helped me in sustaining 40-50 mph winds by the way. The only way to get a fire going in that shit.
