Man who fled the suburbs seven years ago to live in a remote cabin with no water, electricity or toilet says he'll never go back (even though his girlfriend won't join him)
Justin Burke, 25, from Tennessee, lives without any modern amenities
For the last six months he's had a girlfriend who visits fortnightly
Tells Ben Fogle on his TV show that he prefers primitive living
A 25-year-old man who lives alone in a remote forest in the Appalachian mountains in the U.S has revealed why he wouldn't swap primitive living for a home with mod cons.
Justin Burke, 25, had a comfortable suburban upbringing in Morris Town, Tennessee, but he gave it all up at the age of 18.
He said he couldn't face entering the rat race and getting a job where he wasn't his own boss.
'I have never liked being told what to do. I can't work for somebody I can't be told what to do,' he said on Ben Fogle's New Lives In The Wild, which airs on Channel 5.
'All through your childhood you are told what to do and what's best for you. At school you're told you have to do it this way, then again in college, then you get a job and boss who tells you what to do.
'I didn't know how to handle all those emotions, it was fight or flight so I said I have to get out of here.'
